How You Know You Have One
The usual signs are a water bill that has climbed for no reason you can identify, the sound of running water when everything is shut off, a warm patch on the floor if it is the hot line, cracking in the slab or flooring, or a water heater that runs more than it should. Any one of those on its own may be something else. Several together usually means a leak under the slab, and the sooner it is located the less damage it does.
Locating It Properly
The difference between a good slab leak job and a bad one is how accurately the leak is located before anyone starts breaking concrete. Getting that wrong means opening the floor in the wrong place, which is both expensive and avoidable. We take the time to locate it properly first.
Repair or Reroute?
Once the leak is found there is usually a decision to make. A single leak in an otherwise sound system is generally worth repairing at the point of failure. But if the pipe has failed once because of its age or the condition of the water, it may well fail again somewhere else, and rerouting the line — or repiping that section entirely — can be the better value even though it looks like the bigger job on paper. We will lay out both options honestly rather than steering you toward whichever one is larger.
