When a Repipe Is Actually Warranted
Repeated leaks are the clearest signal — if you have had multiple failures in the same system, the next one is a matter of time. Persistently poor pressure that is not explained by anything else, visible corrosion at exposed connections, and discoloured water that clears once you run the tap all point the same way. What matters is the pattern, not any single event. One leak is a repair. Four leaks in three years is a system telling you something.
We Will Tell You If You Do Not Need One
A whole-house repipe is a large job, so it is worth being certain before you commit to one. If your system has a single problem and is otherwise sound, we will fix the problem and leave the rest alone. Doug has been doing this since 1978, and the recommendation you get is the one he would give his own street.
What the Job Involves
New supply lines are run to every fixture, generally through walls and attic space rather than back under the slab where the old ones failed. Drywall gets opened where the runs need to go and patched afterward. Water is off for portions of the work but the house is generally usable throughout. We will give you a realistic timeline up front, including the parts that are inconvenient, rather than a best case that slips.
How We Work
Call or send the form and we will talk it through. Estimates are free. If we need to come out and diagnose on site, our service call is $145. We work Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm. Doug Adair has run this company since 1978, and he still goes out on jobs himself. You get a straight assessment of what your home actually needs — not a list of extras someone was trained to sell you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need a repipe?
Repeated leaks are the main indicator, particularly slab leaks. Add persistent low pressure, visible corrosion, or discoloured water and the case gets stronger. One isolated leak is not a reason to repipe.
Do you have to tear up my walls?
Drywall has to be opened where the new lines run, and it is patched afterward. Running through walls and attic space is generally preferable to going back under the slab.
How long does a repipe take?
It depends on the size of the house and how accessible the runs are. We will give you a realistic timeline when we quote, including the disruptive parts.
Will you tell me if I do not need one?
Yes. It is a big job and we are not going to recommend it to a house that has one fixable problem.
